How you can help

Volunteers are an important part of CMM and generate approximately $100,000 each year worth of resources (financial, pro-bono professional services, in kind, material and volunteer) to CMM and its community based partners.

For more information on how CMM may utilize your gifts, please contact: Alexander Levering Kern, Executive Director, at:

 (617) 244-3650 or akern@coopmet.org.

IFYI is seeking young leaders ages 15-18, college students and seminarians to serve as staff. Call or email Alexander Levering Kern at 617-455-5323 or akern@coopmet.org for more info, or click here for applications and details.

CMM is currently seeking individuals from our member congregations and community partners for CMM committees. Committee meetings are held every six weeks on average.

  • Development – This committee develops the annual mailed appeals, conducts personal solicitations, and provides expertise to other CMM Committees.

  • Fundraising/Special Events – This committee plans CMM’s Special Events and the Annual Meeting. The committee evaluates events as to whether they provide a net profit that is commensurate with the effort that goes into production, as well as public relations value. Based on the committee’s evaluation, the committee will recommend future fund raising special events to the board.

  • Membership – This committee is assigned the responsibility of raising the awareness of CMM’s mission at all levels, and developing the membership and diversity of the organization, both institutional and individual. The members set goals and develop strategies to increase the number of congregations and individual memberships. Their assignments include making presentations to congregations, maintaining contact with member congregations, and nurturing the interest of new congregations that are considering membership.

  • Program – This committee works with the Executive Director to plan and monitor CMM's core programs. The committee recommends issues and topics for the Dinner & Dialogues and helps to select community-based organizations to partner with CMM congregations. The committee also reviews publicity materials developed to describe and promote CMM Partnerships and evaluates program direction.
